Decision Center Interruption & Resolution

Information & Security November 1, 2024 enovak@emoneyadvisor.com

At 4:15 p.m. ET on October 30, 2024, we became aware of an issue that affected the Decision Center experience. eMoney disabled Decision Center and upon further investigation, we learned that a third-party library used for animation in Decision Center (Lottie Player) was compromised. This resulted in a phishing attempt via a pop-up message instructing users to “link their crypto accounts,” appearing in Decision Center. Approximately 1,900 eMoney users may have seen the pop-up message.

The issue has since been resolved, and we are communicating with impacted clients. Note: An email to clients who may have seen the pop-up message is scheduled for distribution on Nov. 1.
