It’s been 5 years since we’ve had eMoney representatives visit with our FMRI offshore partners. With the pandemic behind us, Product Management and Technology were finally able to send a few representatives to make the trip. Our hosts were very enthusiastic, accommodating, and welcoming!
With a full schedule and agenda planned, nobody could have predicted the weather! Upon arriving to Chennai, India, located in the southeast coast of the Indian Ocean, the weather was sunny, hot and humid, and the team was able to make a trip down the coast to visit the temples, lighthouse and monuments at Mahabalipuram before the work week.
It was a great first day in the office meeting with FMRI leadership, management and staff with a welcome social!
The weather took a turn for the worst as a coastal typhoon hit us Monday night through Wednesday afternoon! A state of emergency was declared, a code “red” for all IT businesses, schools and colleges to shelter in place and work remotely. We continued to meet with the teams via Zoom from our hotel.
After the storm dissipated, we took advantage of the nice weather for some team building Thursday afternoon with a fun match of cricket–the first time for Chuan and Josh; Simon is a pro!
