The temporary pause of student loan payments will come to an end Aug. 31. Beginning Sept. 1, interest will accumulate and loan servicers will commence billing later in September. The first payment will be due in October.
Here are a few things to start doing now to be prepared.
- Contact Information: Visit StudentAid.Gov to make sure your contact information is correct and to see who your loan servicer is in case it has changed. Please ensure that your contact information with your loan servicer is accurate.
- Repayment Plan: Review the different repayment plans to make sure you are set up with the one that will save you money.
- Automatic Payments: Enroll (or re-enroll) in autopay to save you 0.25% on your interest by Aug. 31.
