Cara attended courses through the Nielsen Norman Group for UX research and general UX theories and practices. Through these courses, she was able to better understand the background of this area of product development. And she’d encourage you to take advantage of this training budget so you can explore areas of interest and gain more depth in your current career.
Caroline recently participated in the American Association for Inside Sales Professionals (AA-ISP’s) certification program to pursue her Accredited Inside Sales Manager (AISM) accreditation which makes her a certified Inside Sales Manager. The training is specifically for Inside Sales leaders to complete trainings around areas such as coaching, rewards/recognition, managing performance, compensation packages, etc. According to Caroline, this program was AWESOME. It helped her become more well-rounded and learn skills outside of the “eMoney bubble.” In the end, the final requirement is a capstone project where you have to demonstrate a cross-departmental initiative and its impact on the team. She feels that prepared her for the role she’s in today here at eMoney.

Joanna attended the Conference Board’s ‘The Power of Communications: Driving Business Results’ conference – which was designed especially for senior-level professionals and their teams responsible for shaping and executing on their organization’s communications strategy for both external and internal audiences. In her role as director of corporate communications, she believes it’s always a great pulse check to attend an industry conference. Hearing what major brands are doing to elevate their comms and comparing that to our approach at eMoney is super valuable. Immersing herself in a learning environment is something that helps her grow because she can change gears from her day-to-day and listen with fresh ears. It also challenges her to up her game and make adjustments based on what she’s learning. No surprise here, but Joanna would also recommend exploring this benefit! She believes changing your environment every so often is important. She hadn’t attended an industry conference since before the pandemic, and it was very fulfilling. She came back to work feeling refreshed and ready to share new learnings and ideas!
This year Mike wanted to elevate his soft skills and relationship-building. Knowing that we are in a remote work environment, sometimes things can get lost in translation. He found a course called “The All In Manager.” While he has not completed it yet, in his opinion, this course has already provided a great return on investment. Learning the importance of recognizing how people are unique, listening for the clues on behavior they respond to, building trust, and being a people leader is much more than being a technician in your field, etc. The training is a mix between long-term strategies and tactics that can be applied immediately – a number of which he already started implementing. Mike would strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to enhance their people management skills.

I was able to attend the Association for Talent Development conference in May and walked away with pages and pages of notes! in addition to the sessions I was able to attend on learning and development, leadership development, DEI, Conflict Resolution, and technology updates, I was also able to network with vendors and learn more about new tools and services that could be useful to eMoney in the future. I met so many wonderful people and saw a lot of old friends. The keynote speakers were so insightful and I find I am sharing key quotes from Adam Grant, Priya Parker, and Leslie Odom Jr. with just about everyone I speak with! As a learning and development professional, I am always looking for ways to satisfy my curiosity and network with others. Thank you eMoney for supporting our growth and development!!
