Roth Conversion Enhancements

We’ve simplified the ability to model Roth Conversions in eMoney by adding native Roth Conversion facts that allow you to easily model the accounts to convert, destination account, and conversion type—all within a single fact. To make modeling Roth Conversions easier, new facts are now available under Savings & Transfers. This feature represents the 1st of 4 features to be released re: roth conversion enhancements. Be on the lookout for the following planned features to support roth conversions: (1) ability, within Fact Finder, to indicate you’d like to fill up a given tax bracket, (2) total taxes chart in Decision Center, (3) tax bracket chart in Decision Center. Modernization / ADA Enhancements for Cash Flow and Monte Carlo Report Families

Our “reports modernization” effort addresses several things: (1) modernization of antiquated report aesthetics, a top user request, (2) bringing consistency to our traditionally inconsistent reporting aesthetics/styling across various tools, (3) increased ADA accessibility. This feature relates to the modernization and increased ADA accessibility for the Cash Flow and Monte Carlo report families. Read more…

Inherited Non-Spousal IRA RMD Updates

In December 2019, the SECURE Act was passed which made significant changes that included different retirement related legislations. One such change, as of January 1, 2020, effects how beneficiaries of a qualified retirement account, that are not the spouse of the decedent, no longer have freedom of how long they can withdrawal from these accounts. There are a few distribution options to be considered by the Advisor depending on when the beneficiary inherited the account and if they were receiving minimum required distributions or not. This feature facilitates how qualified accounts are distributed after being inherited by a non-spouse. Read more…

Removal of Last Name and Gender Defaults when Entering Spouse

When a Client Site user edits a Spouse, the Last Name field defaults to the ‘original’ partner’s last name. Also, the gender of the Spouse defaults to the opposite of the ‘original’ partner’s gender. This occurs only when a client is editing their Basic Info in the Organizer and Onboarding to change their relationship status from one without a spouse to one with a spouse. This feature is to remove these prefills when entering a Spouse to allow blank entry of same sex partner information or partner with different last name. Read more…
