Please Beware of Phishing Text Messages

Over the past few days, the Security team has been notified by a few eMoney employees that they have received targeted phishing text messages impersonating Susan McKenna, eMoney’s CEO. This type of attack is known as smishing – or phishing via SMS. Please note these “bad actors” may also claim to be any members of our core leadership team. If you receive one of these messages (screenshot below), please follow these guidelines:

Do not reply to the text message. Send a message or call the individual via Microsoft Teams to confirm their identity.
Block the number, report as junk, and delete the text message if you confirm the text message was not from who they claimed to be.
Report the fraudulent message to security@emoneyadvisor.com and include a screenshot of the message for reference.
