Transitioning Jira and Confluence to the Cloud

Over the next few months, CorpOps will be transitioning Jira and Confluence— our project tracking applications used by several groups within eMoney – from on-premise to cloud-based solutions. Given that these tools are widely used across our organization, CorpOps will provide updates throughout the migration. 

Why are we moving Jira and Confluence to the cloud?

The Jira and Confluence Cloud offers many enhanced user experiences that are not available in the Jira on-premise server, including:

• No more manual upgrades for the latest versions
• Fixes and enhancements will be accessible to users as soon as they are released
• Weekly release notes are published by Atlassian here
• Incentive Jira Cloud and Jira Server On-Premise will be combined into one instance in the cloud

Jira on-premise server support is ending in February 2024. It is important for us to complete the migration in the coming months to stay up to date with the latest advancements.

What has been done so far?

CorpOps is working diligently to make this a smooth transition and has completed the following:

• Secured enterprise licensing
• Project kickoff with Atlassian
• Analysis of existing Jira add-ons: what exists now vs. what will be needed in Jira Cloud
• Analysis of users’ projects workflows and integrations
• Establish Cloud Sandbox environment for testing
