Workplace Giving Spotlight: Jeannie McGill

Workplace Giving Spotlight May 14, 2026 Grayce Turnbach

Featured Organization: The Philanthropy Connection

For me, giving back is about more than making a donation – it’s about building meaningful relationships and creating lasting impact.

I first became involved with The Philanthropy Connection through my interest in collective giving and trust-based philanthropy. What stood out most to me was the organization’s people-first approach to supporting nonprofits.

“The Philanthropy Connection builds genuine partnerships with organizations instead of treating funding like a transaction. There’s a real focus on listening, trust, and respecting the expertise of the nonprofits doing the work.”

One experience, in particular, made a lasting impact. During a recent volunteer event with Young Man With a Plan, I worked one-on-one with young men to help them develop and refine their elevator pitches.

“Hearing them talk about their goals, challenges, and aspirations firsthand made the mission feel very real and personal. It reinforced how powerful mentorship and access to opportunity can be.”

The experience inspired me to deepen my support by donating to Young Man With a Plan through eMoney’s Workplace Giving program.

Beyond donating, I also serve on the Board of The Philanthropy Connection and participate in volunteering at events throughout the year. I’m especially excited about an upcoming volunteer event with Boston Food Forest Coalition focused on supporting community-led food access initiatives.

“Donating through Workplace Giving with eMoney’s matching program is such an easy way to amplify your impact. Every dollar you give is matched, which means even more support goes directly to organizations making a difference in our communities.”

Giving back is ultimately about helping create a stronger, more equitable future for everyone.

“When we invest our time, resources, and energy into others, we help build systems of support and opportunity that benefit all of us. It’s a way to turn shared values into meaningful action.”
