Featured Organization: Team Foster
My journey with Team Foster started with a friendship. I became close with a Marine veteran my age who had completed five tours between Afghanistan and Iraq. Hearing what they had seen, done, and sacrificed at such a young age had a profound impact on me – I couldn’t imagine experiencing that myself.
Around the same time, I reconnected with a woman I went to middle school with, an Army veteran who was always sharing about her involvement with veterans and Team Foster. I reached out to her to see how I could help, and the rest is history.
Team Foster raises money to provide accredited, life-saving service dogs to injured and disabled veterans. I’ve always loved dogs and have deep respect for the men and women who fight for our freedom. Supporting this mission felt like the perfect way to give back.

For the past four years, I’ve raised money and participated in Team Foster’s 24-hour spin event in Philadelphia. It’s an incredible experience – complete with food trucks, vendors, a puppy kissing booth, veteran speakers, and more. I’ve also volunteered along their Foster 100 ride, helping at the start line and rest stops. For the past two years, I’ve even planned and facilitated the after party in Cape May, NJ.
The events are fun, but the most powerful moments come when veterans share how their service dogs have changed – and saved – their lives. Hearing those stories makes every effort worthwhile.
When you donate to Team Foster, you’re not just giving money – you’re helping to save a life. If you’re skeptical, I invite you to come to an event and hear the impact firsthand.
For me, giving back helps me step outside of my own day-to-day challenges. Volunteering with Team Foster has introduced me to an amazing community where everyone feels valued while working toward a shared mission. It’s deeply rewarding to know I’m making even a small difference.
