Introducing the eMoney DEI Book Club

DEI August 7, 2025 enovak@emoneyadvisor.com

The DEILC is excited to introduce the eMoney DEI Book Club—a new opportunity to learn, reflect, and grow together through the power of shared reading and open dialogue.

This voluntary book club is designed to support our commitment to fostering an inclusive, curious, and compassionate workplace—one where every voice matters.

At eMoney, we foster an environment where we can be our authentic selves, contribute, innovate, and succeed. We are who we are, and together our company is stronger for it. The DEI Book Club helps bring that mission to life. By exploring diverse voices, perspectives, and lived experiences, we’ll strengthen our ability to build empathy, challenge assumptions, and create a workplace where we can all show up fully and thrive.

What to Expect

  • Our first book: Will be voted on by interested participants (see link below)
  • Kickoff meeting: Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at 1 p.m. ET
  • Regular cadence: Quarterly 60-minute sessions (around lunchtime hours on Thursdays)
  • Discussion format: Light reading pace, shared discussion questions, guided conversation, optional participation in facilitation

We’ll vote on future books together and create a space where curiosity, respect, and empathy lead the way.

Why Join?

  • Deepen your understanding of DEI-related issues in a safe, supported space
  • Practice active listening and inclusive dialogue
  • Connect with colleagues in a different, meaningful way
  • Build community across teams and roles
  • Reflect on how we show up—for ourselves and each other—at work and beyond
  • Expand your perspective through impactful stories and ideas

Our Ground Rules for Respectful Dialogue

To ensure our discussions are safe, welcoming, and enriching, we’ll anchor each session in the following principles:

  • Confidentiality: What’s shared in the room stays in the room
  • Speak from the “I”: Share your personal experiences and reactions
  • Assume positive intent, acknowledge real impact
  • Make space, take space: Be mindful of airtime and invite quiet voices in
  • Participation is always optional: Silence is okay – reflection matters too
  • Stay open and curious: We’re all learning, and that’s the point
