Workplace Giving Spotlight: Mikaela Rhoads

Workplace Giving Spotlight April 6, 2021 Grayce Turnbach

Featured organization: American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is the largest non-government funder of cancer research in the U.S., investing in breakthrough studies across all types of cancer. In addition to research, ACS provides vital support services for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

“I became involved with ACS in 2014 when my older sister was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29. Since then, I’ve served on planning committees for Relay for Life events in San Diego, joined the Sacramento Valley area board, and walked with my family and dog (who even made a local news cameo!). I donate and fundraise whenever I can—because this cause has touched me personally, and I know it affects far too many others. Supporting ACS is one way I feel I can make the biggest individual impact.”
